Today I want to share a personal story about the wonderful people of this country.
Our trip to Thailand wasn’t officially a family trip. The kids and I tagged along, but Mass was there for a workshop and we tagged along. We were simply going to go to the beach, maybe due a few tours and then go explore more on his free days.
This was our first day venturing around without him.
We spent most of the day at the beach. However I had been told that there was a market down the street from the beach. The lady from the hotel also showed me a map to get back to the hotel doing a different road. We managed to get lost!
It wasn‘t as straightforward as it seemed!!! So here I am walking for an hour with 3 kids. The baby crying in my arms because he was hot and tired. Cosimo and Emma were whining as well because they were tired from a full day at the beach. Some ladies at a little food stand saw us. They offered us to sit and rest. In the meantime they tried to help us figure out where the hotel was. Suddenly one of the man that was eating there checked his phone. He offered to drive me there (it was still a mile away!).

For a moment I thought that I was completely crazy to go in a car with a complete stranger, specially with my 3 kids. However my gut told me that it was going to be ok. I listened to my gut, and it was just fine! He dropped us off, I tried to offer some money but he didn’t want anything in return, he smiled at us and left…..he just did it to be kind……
Since we have been here we have found kindness, specially towards the kids. It makes this trip even more special and meaningful to us.
How wonderful would it be if there was so much kindness all over the place?
